Women in IT (WIIT) was founded to promote young women's interest in the information technologies and to encourage their consideration of IT careers. The first step in this process is to establish an IT Summer Academy for young women from area elementary and middle schools (ages 7-14) where they will be introduced to a variety of IT tools and techniques that will help them develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in an IT environment.
